Wrinkle treatment by specialists

The neurotoxin Botulinustoxin A which is injected into the muscle prevents the release of certain neurotransmitters, which cause muscle contraction. The muscle is paralysed. Due to muscle’s subsequent inability to contract and relax, the skin in the treated area does not have to "work": It becomes smooth and any wrinkles disappear.

Botulinustoxin A is removed from the body after 4 to 7 months. The result is therefore not permanent, and the procedure may be repeated provided there are no medical concerns.

RISKS/SIDE EFFECTS

Following the procedure, there may very occasionally be skin redness and slight swelling. 10% of patients suffer from mild headaches. Cases of fever, flu-like symptoms, ptosis (drooping of the eyelid), itching and visual problems are extremely rare (less than 1%). To date, there are no reports of permanent side effects. Patients that are allergic to our active ingredients will not be treated with the drug.

PROCEDURE /FOLLOW-UP TREATMENT

The liquid solution is injected into the muscle using a very fine needle. Since the affected areas are anaesthetised with an anaesthetic cream beforehand, the patient experiences virtually no pain apart from a brief burning sensation. The result is visible after about a week and lasts for at least four months.
